The Grounds

The impressive Bunya-pine lined avenue welcomes visitors to the property.  The gardens, planted in the 1870's (forty years before the house was completed) include Moreton Bay Figs, Chinese Mourning Trees, Baobabs, Himalayan Cedars and Lemon-scented Gums, to name but a few. At every turn there is something for the inquisitive garden enthusiast or casual onlooker.

The Grounds

Explore the grounds at your leisure and wander through the formal gardens, viewing the kitchen garden, ironstone cemetery and traditional outbuildings.  Enjoy a game of tennis or outdoor chess, just for fun.

The Outbuildings comprise a Gardener's Cottage, original stables, the Coach House (now offered as accommodation) and various buildings that support the Estate.    A walk in the garden is often accompanied by one of the friendly dogs that are Blair Athol's 'tour guides'.
